| In
the 1850s, a group of French settlers formed a democratic communal colony
near the banks of the Trinity River. They called it La Reunion, honoring
the reuniting of people, purpose and vision.
Remembering
these Dallas pioneers, The Reunion Institute was formed to join
together diverse people involved in the helping and healing arts for training
and growth. The mission of the institute is to cultivate a community
of learners where collaborative, humane and respectful approaches to training,
research and change in human systems will be generated. This mission
is accomplished by:
- providing
a forum for the exchange of ideas, collaborative study and discussion
among professionals and trainees.
- providing
professional education that is affordable, flexible and sensitive
to many levels of training needed in human service systems.
- improving
the quality of human systems services by providing innovative professional
training.
- seeking
new approaches to helping clients and disseminating new information
in the field.
- promoting
research and study of human systems from multiple perspectives.
