Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers has played a key role in La Calle Diez (Tenth Street) Community Development Corporation, helping to revitalize the neighborhood surrounding our school and family center in Oak Cliff. Over the last ten years, this volunteer group has developed lots for affordable single family homes on Ninth and Tenth Streets, and encouraged home construction by others in North Oak Cliff. Nineteen homes were recently built by a private developer at Ninth and Denver. Previously, five homes were constructed by Habitat for Humanity in 1996, and 10 homes by U.S. Homes in 1999.

We are also a member of the Dallas Behavioral Healthcare Network, a collaboration of local nonprofit, children's mental health organizations. Dr. Jim Calvert, SCYFC’s chief psychologist, serves as vice president of this private, not-for-profit network of mental health providers that includes Buckner Children's Services, Children's Medical Center, Jewish Family Service, Juliette Fowler Homes, and Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers. Dr. Delane Kinney, SCYFC’s director of psychological services, is past president of DBHN.
